More Information

Obtaining a concealed carry permit is only the beginning of your journey into the concealed carry world. While the permit provides the legal authority to carry a concealed firearm, we have the obligation to be prepared and seek out ongoing training. We must ask ourselves these questions:

  • Am I mentally prepared for this responsibility?
  • Am I well enough trained to take effective and decisive action?
  • Do I know what to do should I have to use my concealed carry weapon?
  • Am I prepared for the possible legal ramifications of a concealed carry event?

These are serious questions should all be asking ourselves if we want to be responsible and effective concealed carry permit holders.

Uinta Precision Tactical is here to help you develop your own answers to those questions. Our goal is to provide you with the foundational skills and knowledge sets that will allow you to carry responsibly and develop the confidence you need to be a safe and competent concealed permit holder.

Topics to be covered in this course include:

  • Discussion regarding carry techniques and the pros and cons associated with each.
  • Printing, why it is negative, and how to avoid it.
  • Weapon manipulation
  • Draw stroke and weapon presentation from varied positions.
  • Round placement and accuracy
  • Close-quarters combat considerations

After the live fire and range portion of this course, we will also be including a “stop the bleed” portion. Knowing how to care for a serious bleed is key to survival in the event we are injured during a gun battle.  We will cover likely injuries, pressure points, direct pressure, and tourniquet use.  Each student will be provided a tourniquet for use within the course and you will be allowed to keep this tourniquet at course completion.

Safety is always paramount when handling firearms.  Muzzle awareness and firearm safety rules MUST be followed during this course.  FAILURE TO ADHERE TO SAFETY STANDARDS CAN RESULT IN EJECTION FROM THE COURSE WITHOUT REFUND.

Physical activity is the only way to simulate a portion of the stress that will be experienced in a lethal force situation.  As such, there will be activities designed to elevate your heart rate.  Please be prepared for this and bring plenty of snacks and hydration options.

A current concealed carry permit is not required to attend the course.
